13Files, logs and deletion

Files#

Images, videos, decks and attachments are Salesforce files. InfoIQ only ever deletes files that were uploaded into an announcement through it:

• a page file no page uses any more is removed when the builder saves;
• deleting an announcement removes the files only it was using; a file another announcement still shows always stays;
• restoring it from the recycle bin brings back the files its pages show; attachments stay in the recycle bin.

Only a file's owner can remove it from an announcement's related files, administrators included. A file someone had before and attached is detached, never deleted.

Diagnostic log#

Errors InfoIQ catches are recorded as Announcement Log rows, readable only with Announcement Log Access. They name no content and no reading. Retention is in section 5.

What deletion keeps#

Before an announcement is deleted, whatever deletes it, InfoIQ writes a snapshot of its figures — counts only, never a name — so the Analytics page keeps counting it. Its pages, readings, questions and Readers list are gone.
